The Aces: Beginning

The images on the Aces generally show the potential for the new beginnings. They show something fresh and starting. A new seed has just planted. Aces also can represent an idea of the beginning.

Positive meaning of aces is: It is a great time to plant the seeds for something new. The seed will grow and greatly benefit you both spiritually and materially.

Negative meaning is: You are jumping the gun. Complete old business before rushing into new projects.

Major Arcana

Each Major Arcana represents a unique and individual concept. Each card shows opportunities to growth and raise awareness of the questionnaire. Even each card can be interpreted as stand alone, I personally connect all major arcana in a story when I read cards for somebody. When we read cards, images seem to awake and it can awake your intuition at the time of reading.

Tarot Mythological Symbols

The mythology tells a story what may explain why things are the way they are: why it is rains, why the sun goes at night, why we feel angry. The stories have the power to make us feel good and understand better events of our lives. Mythology helps us feel that there is a reason for what happens and shows us where we fit in the picture.

Once we learn to explore the stories, we find them priceless in helping us discover our lives and bring the situations to the next level.

Choosing A Tarot Deck

The key to the Tarot is in the symbols used on the cards. They are the catalysts for awakening your intuition. It is very important that you are confortable with the images on the cards you choose.

Throughout the last five centuries, the Tarot has been used mainly by the royal classes, occult sects, educated philosophers and and witches or gypsies. The insights and information discovered by gypsies and witches was transmitted out by word of mouth and mostly hidden from public. Interesting enough, the privileged class was developing and publishing most information we have today on Tarot. The esoteric philosophers, Emperors, Kings and Popes saw the Tarot  as a tool to be used by the initiated, the privileged, the people who had time to study and understand an intricate maze of symbolism.

General public got access to the Tarot only in 20th century.

Human Symbols

Tarot decks generally treat children as creative, energetic creatures who are ready to begin their life with faith and enthusiasm. Young people could be a bit crazy and willing to take a risk to adventure. Middle-aged people are depicted as leaders of society.

Some people tend to feel that they have power when they control others. This control involves some people setting and enforcing the limits and conditions of other people growth and development.

There is a better way of looking at power and control. We can gain control over our lives without controlling the lives of others; others can control their lives without melting into our lives. We each have personal power to be ourselves, individually and in groups. We can take charge of your lives, make choices based on our needs, and become responsible to and for ourselves. We should not allow to make other people decisions for us, to be responsible for us, or to take charge.

As you examine Tarot deck, be aware of the symbols in them because these symbols represent powerful concepts. Choose the Tarot deck that mostly reflects your values. Choose a deck containing symbolism that holds meaning for you. Choose a deck that is full of symbolism that intrigue you.

You also choose a deck that looks good to you. look for a deck that is attractive in its design. Find one that appeals to your sense of taste and esthetics. (Though, it did not work for me because I sometimes buy cards for the collection, not the reading, and when I try to use cards it is hard to read because symbols does not make sense. I would not recommend for readings the following decks: Witchy tarot and 1001 night tarot. The first deck just does not make sense and the 1001 nights has beautiful images but pictures are too small and the symbolism is not all clear.)

You can choose a deck that intuitively "feels" right to you. Look at several decks; then see which one you keep coming back to you.

Choose a deck that is a size and shape comfortable to handle.

It is better to use more than one deck. Different deck will give you a bit different mood while reading. It is better to use your own value system. your philosophy, your taste and your intuition. You will have deck that fits you.

These opportunities you can apply in all aspects of life. The Alchemist reflects inner desire to know the unknown. He is following the call of the soul, bringing a new life cycle of the unknown as the starting point of a new path, and simultaneously completing the previous cycle. Carefree clown has a confidence of a child, who still remembers the cosmic laws, but does not yet have knowledge of the rational model to explain the new world.

Citations:
An order is the satisfaction of reason, and chaos is a delight of imagination.
The starting point - that's what people are lacking. Not that its daily matters so hard to find. The only thing that is messy - it's an illusion that it must be sought.

In older history of divination, the card had more negative meaning.

White & Roses. Symbolism.

The rose also is a symbol that has a marvelous history. And like the cross, it can have contradictory meanings. It is  a message of innocence; and a symbol of passion and heavenly perfection; purity and in utero; death and life. The rose is the flower of the Venus but also the blood of Adonis and Christ. The rose garden symbolizes Paradise -- the place of the mysterious alliance.

The rose also is a sign of silence and secrecy. In the Mysteries roses were sacred to Isis. It is also the flower of her son Harpocrates or younger Horus, the god of silence.

Numerological, the rose represents the number 5 -- because the wild rose has 5 petals which is the emblem of Health and Safety; ...it depicts Spirit and the four elements." The Pythagorean school used the pentagram as the symbol of their teaching.

In an ideal sensation the rose symbolizes the expanding appreciation of being through the evolving of the senses.

It was such a day that I had a gift of two roses, the red and white. The white represents friendship for me, and the red, even people could consider love, I would say it represents passion and truth. Passion toward goals on one's life. It was a first time, I got an impression that you really can compare the rose with the cross. For some reason, the white rose reminded me of a cross, and in Rosicrucian symbolism they have the red rose and the white cross. So the white rose could you remind of a cross sometimes. maybe I just got lucky to get this to remind me about symbol.

It was an interesting experience.

Universal Waite Tarot

The Universal Waite Tarot is quite a pretty version of the Rider-Waite, with more appealing, softer artwork.

I also have this deck in my collection.

You can find more similar versions of Pamela Colman-Smith's Rider-Waite tarot, but this information will help you in selection of the deck(s) that you will like to have.

Universal Tarot Grand Trumps

The Universal Tarot Grand Trumps are the third of Lo Scarabeo's Grand Trumps series, and has the 22 large-sized Rider-Waite style illustrations of the Universal Tarot major arcana.

Universal Tarot

Pamela Colman-Smith's Rider-Waite images have been slightly changed and redrawn in a more Italian, dynamic style.

Tarot Of The New Vision

The Tarot of the New Vision is created by Raul and Gianluca Cestaro and based on the Rider-Waite, but with a fascinating change of perspective which reveals new scenes, people and hidden meanings.

This is a very interesting deck that opens your imagination for hidden movements and it seems that cards are alive.

Robin Wood Tarot

With its Rider-Waite foundation, Robin Wood's Tarot deck contains Pagan symbolism. The illustrations in this popular deck are attractive, and brightly.

Rider-Waite Tarot

Rider-Waite Tarot, Rider Tarot, Waite Tarot, Waite-Smith Tarot

The Rider-Waite Tarot is a classic Tarot deck, perhaps the most well-known in the Western world. It is often called the first modern Tarot deck, as the cards drawn by Pamela Colman-Smith and commissioned by Waite were the first to use detailed pictures on the minor arcana cards.

Rider-Waite Tarot (University Books)

This version of the Tarot was published by 1959. Its colors are more vivid than later editions and the backs have a different background.

Radical Wirth Tarot

Radical Wirth Tarot

The tarot images used in the Oswald Wirth Tarot have been re-painted. The originals were flat illustrations with brown backgrounds, but these are richly decorated and multi-hued pictures.

Radiant Rider-Waite Tarot

In the Radiant Rider-Waite Tarot, Poshkus has re-illustrated and updated Pamela Colman-Smith's images. Compared to the original, these cards are much more luminously colored and three-dimensional.

I have this deck in my collection and find it excellent for reading and divination.

The Original Rider Waite Tarot Pack

The Original Rider-Waite Tarot differs from the Rider-Waite Tarot, as it has less saturated colors and a brownish hue, titles as drawn by Pamela Colman-Smith, and a more decorative back pattern.

I personally found this deck not good quality. What was bothering me is that the quality of painting was really bad, and colors were really dull. Before you buy this deck, try to see if there are open sample decks.

Ended up, that I gave this deck away to my friend who lives overseas, so she can use them.
